Because the tear is down low I am also a licensed nail tech go to a salon and have a silk wrap put over the area. Thats why I cut the acrylic off as short as I could put hydrogen peroxide and covered it in bandages so like you said it wont catch on anything and lift it anymore. Its why I hand file which is how I was taught so many years ago.
